web Christine Mackey - DIGGINGMACKEY- voorkeur Andy In 'Ecological dispersals', neemt Christine Mackey de diversiteit van het plantenleven als uitgangspunt. Onderweg identificeert ze plantensoorten, traceert ze hun oorsprong en gaat het historische/medicinale gebruik ervan na. Ze wordt daarbij geholpen door lokale natuurkenners en botanisten. Het proces van verzamelen, uitgraven, tekenen en onderzoeken wordt gedocumenteerd in een multimediale installatie.

In haar tekeningen, sculpturale installaties, foto's, teksten, geluid en video bevraagt Christine Mackey de rol van het ecosysteem en de voorstelling ervan. Christine woont en werkt in North Leitrim en behaalde haar doctoraat aan de universiteit van Ulster in Belfast. In 2011 had ze een solotentoonstelling Seed matter and 'other' stories in The Butler Gallery in Kilkenny.
